About Wycombe Savoy

Founded in 1971, Wycombe Savoy Opera Company continues to entertain local audiences in South Bucks with the works of Gilbert & Sullivan and related Savoy productions.

In 2009, we presented The Yeomen of the Guard by Gilbert and Sullivan . Our Production Director for The Yeomen of the Guard who brought out all the facets of the show . Graham Barker had a very successful first appearance with us as Musical Director.

WSOC is a registered charity with around 50 members.
Our main production takes place each October, at the Beacon Centre Theatre in Beaconsfield. We rehearse from April to September at 8pm on Tuesdays at the Hannah Ball School in High Wycombe, with additional principals’ rehearsals on Thursdays.

Our concert group performs outside our main show season, taking on a broader range of musical styles and an extended repertoire – giving everyone the chance to take on new challenges. The concert group is available to support charity events (and other social functions, for a small fee that goes towards our production costs).

In 2010, our main show in October is now Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. We welcome back Diane Haylor as Production Director and Louise Langley as Musical Director.

For all these productions we're looking for additional singers and dancers to join us, both as principals and chorus. Or you may feel you'd prefer to apply your skills backstage - either way, give us a call or reply through this website.

Above all, we set out to enjoy ourselves. We have a varied programme of social events, from country walks to quiz nights, theatre visits and the annual fish and chip supper! Do join us for our next production!
